The residents of Southern Pines have one more opportunity to weigh-in on the proposed Comprehensive Long-Range Plan.

A public hearing on the document will likely be held during the Southern Pines Town Council’s regular meeting in March. That meeting is slated for 7 p.m. March 9 at the Douglass Community Center.

Thursday night the Southern Pines Planning Board unanimously approved the plan with no changes following a public hearing and brief discussion.

Two residents spoke at the sparsely attended meeting.

The vote was 5-0, as board members Tom Marsh and Elizabeth Lyerly were absent.
