Aberdeen-based Meridian Kiosks recently signed a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro Inc., the world's largest technology distributor and a leading technology sales, marketing and logistics company.

As leaders in their respective markets, it is fitting for Meridian and Ingram Micro to work together to improve the way customers engage with ideas and information for their kiosk solutions, a Meridian news release said.

A major component to the Meridian business model is growing the business utilizing key distributors and partnering with Ingram Micro is an important step to meeting this objective. Ingram Micro is known for distributing technology that is innovative, and Meridian fits nicely into that category, the release said.

By signing the agreement, Meridian's complete line of kiosk enclosures are now available to channel partners in North America through the Ingram Micro Data Capture/POS Division. This will allow Meridian to expand its core base as well as significantly expanding the availability of its products.

"Partnering with the Ingram Micro Data Capture/POS Division will solidify Meridian's commitment to providing the best possible kiosk solutions for its channel partners," the company said in the release. "Meridian selected Ingram Micro as the distributor best positioned to sell, service and support their products."

Under the terms of the agreement, the Ingram Micro Data Capture/POS Division will support, market and resell Meridian's enclosures.These are to include the Plynth Classic, the RTS Standalone, the RTS Wall Mount, Digital Signage and the Plynth G6 Plus, as well as software packages and applications.

By providing these particular models, the two companies can address the growing needs for kiosk use. This will allow IT solution providers several choices to fulfill their customers' needs whether it is for entertainment, financial services, government, health care, corporate, hospitality or retail, according to the release.

In addition, the Ingram Micro Data Capture/POS Division will provide training and education to help enable its resellers to develop opportunities within their vertical market.

Meridian will also be participating in marketing campaigns to generate product awareness and brand recognition.
