The Moore County Planning Board has adopted policies specifying the requirements of public comment periods and public hearings.

At the Thursday night meeting the board voted to accept a policy that places a three-minute limit on speakers taking part in the public comment period at the beginning of each meeting. However, the policy allows other speakers to yield their left-over time to those wishing to speak for longer periods than three minutes.

The board adopted a similar policy for public hearings but with a five-minute limit on speakers.

More details will appear in the print version of The Pilot.
