Random thoughts while I wait on the NCAA to rule on my eligibility for the SEC Championship Game. (Hint: I’m not.)
Richard Petty Motorsports is now owned by Richard Petty. This can’t be a bad thing. Especially if it means he will stop being in a flame war with Trace Adkins on my radio.
Scott Speed: Thanks for playing, but your man purses, weird hats and other paraphernalia will need to find a new home next year.
Derek Anderson is too terrible a quarterback to be engaging in those kinds of post-game tirades. Who do you think you are, Denny Green?
Bobby Hamilton Jr. may be about 5 feet tall, but that doesn’t mean you should mess with him. The former NASCAR Busch Series driver apparently pulled a gun on members of a race crew during a race at Highland Rim Speedway in Greenbriar, Tenn. — a track that Hamilton runs. No charges have been filed against Hamilton. That’s good hustle, Bobby.
I am glad that Rick Hendrick is giving Dale Earnhardt Jr. a new crew chief to blame when he has a terrible 2011. Again.
Ron Cherry is an idiot and that spot at the end of the NC State-Maryland game was the worst thing I have ever seen in my life.
Derek Jeter, you, sir, are not worth $25 million a year. Cam Newton’s team is undefeated and his dad was only asking for one one-hundredth of that amount.
It was pretty cool to see Kurt Busch changing his own tires during the Polar Bear 150 at Rockingham Speedway (Busch finished second in the race). It was even cooler to see him change his brother-in-law’s tires as well during the race’s halfway break.
I think the hardest part of being a NASCAR Cup driver would be all of the stupid stuff they make you do during Champions Week in Las Vegas. “Speedway Feud,” seriously? I would forfeit my top-12 finish to not have to do that.
Rascal Flatts will be performing at the NASCAR Sprint Cup banquet.
This is bad for me because I have been working hard to make all areas around me a Rascal Flatts-free zone.
