The Carolina Philharmonic, under the direction of Maestro David Michael Wolff, will host a series of holiday concerts through December.
Thursday, Dec. 9, at 7 pm, in Owens Auditorium, at Sandhills Community College, and Friday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary at Sacred Heart Church, Wolff will conduct the Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra, a chorus from around Moore County and stellar guest soloists in Part I of Handel's "Messiah," concluding with the glorious "Hallelujah Chorus."
On Thursday, Dec. 23, at 2:30 and 7 p.m. in Founders Hall, Sacred Heart Church, concert goers will experience "Christmas in New York." The exceptional Joshua Wolff Jazz Trio will return to perform a variety of the season's most loved melodies.
Friday, Dec. 31, at 4 and 7:30 p.m. in Founders Hall at Sacred Heart Church, "New Year's Eve in the Afternoon," an American pops concert, will be offered for those who enjoy beginning New Year's Eve on the early side, followed by champagne. Featured music includes Gershwin, Fats Waller, Art Tatum, The Beatles, and Simon and Garfunkel.
Tickets are now available at The Country Bookshop in Southern Pines, Given Bookshop in Olmsted Village or by calling the box office at (910) 687-4746.

I wander if the champagne will be served at the church after the New Years Eve concert.
