Authorities are urging drivers to Avoid US Highway 22 north and southbound at Sullivan Drive in Whispering Pines near the site of the new Food Lion due to lane closures and traffic congestion.
At 8:55 a.m. today traffic congestion on US Highway 22 extended from Sullivan Drive south to the Moore County Airport and from Sullivan Drive north to Nicks Creek.
This traffic pattern will remain in effect until 5 p.m. today.
