They're Back: Students Return to School

The first day of school went off without a hitch for teachers and faculty at West Pine Elementary School today.

West Pine Elementary is one of two new schools opening in the Moore County school system this year.

Crain's Creek Middle School in Carthage also opened today.

West Pine principal Seth Powers said things were going smoothly this morning as students said goodbye to their parents, hopped off buses and headed to their classrooms in the brand new school.

Last time I checked, Crain's Creek Middle School was near Vass, not too far from Mama's Kitchen. Did the school all of a sudden move overnight???

Yeah, I thought it was in Vass but the address is Carthage.

Ok, Mama's Kitchen has a Vass phone number and address. The day did not go as well as was said. It is only the second day of school and they are all ready changing the drop off and pick patterns at West Pine Elementary and West Pine Middle. I don't know if I was the only person who thought of this as a problem before school started or not. It is a very nice school except there is no PLAYGROUND! Tell me, what small child wants to go out and just play with grass?

Yes no excuse for the playgrounds not to be installed in time for opening of the new school. Drop-off not bad at West Pine Elementary but pick up a nightmare. I have faith though they'll improve and people will fall into a routine...just give it a little time.
