Dana Parziale, of Pinehurst, wrapped up his junior tennis career with a state singles title on Sunday.

The June Pinecrest graduate defeated Roberto Hennis, of Raleigh, 6-1, 6-1 in the USTA 18-and-under North Carolina Hardcourt Championships at Cary Tennis Park. He was the third seed in the tournament.

Parziale won six matches over four days on his way to the title. He defeated Michael Goldstein, of Chapel Hill, 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-final round.

During his Pinecrest career, Parziale lost only four singles matches and two in doubles out of a total of more than 120. On Sept. 3, he leaves for Smithfield, R.I., to continue his tennis and academic career at Bryant University.

Congratulations Dana! Great acomplishment. Since we do not have in this area the trainig offer in other parts of the state for tennis players you manage to defeat two of the best players in the state,Roberto Hennis and Michael Goldstein. All your hard work has paid off. Good luck in College.
