Arrests

July 30: Shawn Antonio Smith, 28, of Aberdeen, assault on a female; Rico Van Leak, 51, of Lumberton, driving while license revoked, fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, moving violation, following too closely and fictitious tag.

July 31: Marvin Marruquin Lopez, 23, of Southern Pines, driving while impaired, hit and run, open container after consuming alcohol, unsafe movement, no operator’s license.

Aug. 2: Sammy Lee Cameron, 55, of Aberdeen, misdemeanor drug violations, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Aug. 5: Katie Leigh Colville, 20, of Hamlet, underage consumption, provisional licensee, speeding.

Reports

July 30: Male, 68, reported a subject lost a dealer tag while test-driving a vehicle from Steve Jones Honda, 11049 U.S. 15-501 North.

July 31: Male, 50, reported a subject stole items from his 2007 Ford truck while it was parked in the 700 block of High Street. Items taken included two cameras, a laptop computer, six DVDs, CD player, a 7-piece luggage set, assorted male, female and kids’ clothing, a camcorder, perfume, a portable flashlight and a pair of sunglasses.

Aug. 1: Male, 40, reported a subject stole prescription sunglasses from him while he was at Wal-Mart, 250 Turner Street.

Aug. 2: Male, 46, reported a known person threatened him with assault if he didn’t give the suspect money during an incident at a home in the 900 block of Wilder Ave.

Aug. 4: Female, 63, reported a subject entered her residence in the 1000 block of Devonshire Trail and stole her purse. The purse contained a cell phone, checkbook, cash, credit cards and a driver’s licence; female, 53, reported a suspect entered her 2000 Honda while it was parked in the 200 block of Shelton Drive, and stole money and damaged the vehicle’s console; female, 25, reported subjects entered her 1999 Honda while it was parked at a gas station in the 100 block of S. Sandhills Blvd. and stole a CD player and damaged the vehicle’s cargo window and sun visor; male, 32, reported an employee at Ruby Tuesday restaurant, 1505 N. Sandhills Blvd. added current to the tip amount on a credit card receipt; a female employee at Tobacco Road Outlet, 1818 N. Sandhills, reported a subject used someone else’s credit card to purchase seven carton of cigarettes; male, 40, reported a subject kicked in the door of a home in the 200 block of Lakeshore Drive, damaging the door and a deadbolt lock; male, 28, of Yadkinville, reported unknown subjects stole a wedding ring from a room at the Country Hearth Inn, 1405, N. Sandhills Blvd.
