Anna Denise Stancik and Marshal Ken Miller, both of Charlotte, were married at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at St. Mary’s Chapel in Charlotte. The Rev. John L. Frye Jr., uncle of the bride, the Rev. Lee McKinney and the Rev. Paul Bennett officiated at the ceremony.
The reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at South Park Hampton at Phillips Place in Charlotte.
The bride is the daughter of the Rev. Glen and Valerie Stancik, of Pinehurst, and the granddaughter of Dr. E.C. (Bud) Deibler, of Pinehurst, and the late Mary Deibler, and Edwin E. Stancik, of Seven Lakes, and the late Doris Stancik. The bride has an AFA degree in music from Sandhills Community College. She attended Queens College in Charlotte and the University of South Carolina. She received a degree in medical coding from Penn Foster University in May.
The groom is the son of Willard and Ann Miller, of Bakersville. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in computer information systems. He currently is employed at Environmental Systems Research Institute in Charlotte as a systems research analyst.
The bride was escorted by her father, the Rev. Glen Alan Stancik. She wore an ivory satin box pleated ball gown with fitted bodice and a shoulder-length satin trimmed veil. She carried a bouquet of peach-colored roses, baby gardenias and Queen Anne’s lace. For the wedding rehearsal and dinner, the bride wore her maternal grandmother’s wedding dress, which was crafted from parts of the silk parachute her grandfather used when he jumped on D-Day over Normandy.
Sarah Stancik Pay, sister of the bride, of Charlotte, was the matron of honor. Cindy Rim Stancik, sister-in-law of the bride, of Stuttgart, Germany, Teresa Keidaish, sister of the groom, of Bakersville, Holly Haskins Campbell, of Aberdeen, Angela Steele, of Charlotte, and Sugie Barclay, of Charlotte, were bridesmaids. The matron of honor wore a chocolate chiffon full-length sheath with satin cummerbund of deeper truffle brown. Similar dresses were worn by the bridesmaids in lighter shades of latte and taupe. They carried bouquets similar to the bride’s but theirs included lace cap blue hydrangeas.
Grayson Rogers, of Pinehurst, was the junior bridesmaid.
Willard Miller, father of the groom, of Bakersville, was the best man. Paul A. Stancik, brother of the bride, of Stuttgart, Germany, Joseph M. Pay, brother-in-law of the bride, of Charlotte, John L. Frye III, cousin of the bride, of Charlotte, David Plemons, of Charlotte, Mike Leopold, of Fairfax, Va., David Warren, of Reva, Va., and Noah Stancik, cousin of the bride, of Shelbyville, Ky., were groomsmen.
Kaylen Marie Stancik, niece of the bride, of Stuttgart, Germany, was the flower girl.
Bradley Joseph Pay, nephew of the bride, of Charlotte, was the ring bearer.
Wedding music was provided by violinist Kaitlyn Johnson and celloist Chase Johnson and vocalists Jentry Womach and Hirotaka Sata, all of Pinehurst.
Sarah Smith Curry, aunt of the bride, of Sanford, directed the wedding.
Following a wedding trip to Colorado Springs, Colo., the couple reside in Charlotte.

A bridesmaids’ brunch was hosted by Sarah Pay, sister of the bride, and Denise Deibler Frye, aunt of the bride, at Brio Tuscan Grille, Southpark, Charlotte.
A dinner for the bride was hosted by Angela Steele and Kristi Kelly at Trio’s of Charlotte.
