The Moore County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Red Cross blood drive from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at the Carthage Community Center, 203 Barrett St.

Donors are needed. Contact the Chamber at (910) 692-3926 to schedule a time to donate.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to assist those in need,” says a spokesman. “The Chamber, the Town of Carthage and the American Red Cross urge blood donors to schedule a time to donate today.”

“Convenience, for many people, turns out to be the deciding factor whether they give blood or not. The American Red Cross has worked closely with the Chamber and the Town of Carthage to organize this blood drive,” said Patrick Coughlin, president of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce.

“Eighty percent of blood donations made through the Red Cross are made at blood drives rather than fixed donor centers. We encourage the community to schedule an appointment today and support our efforts. Our goal is to have 45 donors. Register to win a $1,000 gift card.”
