Temple Theatre announces its 2010-2011 season, which kicks off this summer with two youth conservatories of Disney’s “The Jungle Book.” Each conservatory has 38 local youth ages 8-18 and culminates with a weekend of performances. The first main stage show of the 2010-2011 season is “Chicago,” which will run Sept. 16-Oct. 3, followed by “Flaming Idiots,” which will run Oct. 21-Nov. 7.

Sanford’s “newest holiday tradition,” “A Christmas Carol,” will run Dec. 2-19. Temple Theatre will start 2011 with “Crowns,” a co-production with Burning Coal Theatre in Raleigh, which is scheduled to run Jan. 28-Feb. 6. “Proof” will be the fifth of six main stage productions for Temple Theatre’s 2010-2011 season, and Temple will finish the season with “Beguiled Again.”

Temple Theatre will hold general auditions for the 2010-2011 season Saturday, July 17. Auditions for the upcoming season are open to anyone ages 8 and up. Temple Theatre has not raised its ticket prices for the 2010-2011 season. Flexible “season ticket” passes are available for sale starting Monday, April 26. Flex passes are being offered as six tickets for $96 or four tickets for $64 again this year. Temple Theatre is in the midst of its annual fund drive for the 2010-2011 season.

“All donations, regardless of amount, are greatly appreciated,” says a spokesman.
