Pinecrest Golf Team Squeaks Past Purnell Swett

Pinecrest remained undefeated in Southeastern Conference boys’ golf, but Purnell Swett made it a close call in Monday’s match at Riverside Country Club in Pembroke.
The Patriots finished with a team total of 307 strokes to 310 for Purnell Swett. Richmond Senior was third at 322, followed by Lumberton (337), Scotland County (340) and Hoke County (352).
Alex Dial, of Purnell Swett, was the medalist with a round of 72. Sam Packard and Zach Martin each shot a 76 to lead Pinecrest. The other two scores making up the Patriot total were a 77 by Bryan Stewart and a 78 by Nick Thompson.
The final conference match of the season will be held next Monday at Pine Crest Country Club in Lumberton.
