The Sandhills chapter of SCORE (Counselors to American Small Business) reminds all small business owners that the deadline for submitting entries for the $1,500 prize in the 2010 “Good to Great” contest is Friday.
All entries, in the form of an essay of 500 words or less, answering the question “How can my business take advantage of $1,500 to make itself more successful” must be submitted to Ron Hodiak, SCORE counselor, by e-mail to rchodiak@yahoo.com or by mail to Ron Hodiak at 104 Dragonfly Court, Southern Pines, NC, 28387.
The contest is sponsored jointly by the Moore County Chamber of Commerce and Sandhills SCORE. The contest winner will be notified by May 14 and a luncheon to honor the winner will be held during the annual Small Business Week, the third week in May.
Complete contest rules can be found by clicking here. Questions about the contest should be directed to Hodiak at rchodiak@yahoo.com

I agree with Chuck Taylor re patronizing the SP and local businesses. I buy everything downtown, as well as my groceries at Bo's. When we had Pope's downtown many years ago you could buy everything you needed.
I do use Netflix for my DVDs because I was given a one year membership as a gift; oherwise I would use That's Entertainment; have never used Blockbuster and don't go into Walmart at all if it can be avoided. I hope this is not defamatory, but I prefer to use the local businesses anytime,
