The Moore County grand jury has indicted three men who were arrested last week for the murder of an Eagle Springs man in February.
Claudis Antonio Barrett, 29, was found lying in the front yard of his home Feb. 3 by Moore County sheriff's deputies who responded to a 911 call that came in about 7:40 p.m. Deputies arriving at 2753 N.C. 211 found Barrett had been shot several times. Moore County EMS took him to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from gunshot wounds. Few other details were released at the time.
At least one person had been with the victim at Barrett's house, and a conversation in the yard was followed by shots being fired, Chief Deputy Neil Godfrey said at the time. More than one other person may have been at the house. At least one person left on foot, but a car might have been nearby, he said.
Deputies charged Phillip Brian Chisholm, 31, of Robbins; and Robert Anthony Boone, 28, and Bruce O'Neal Jarrell, 19, both of Asheboro, were indicted on count of murder and one count of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon. Chisholm was also indicted on one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.
All three are being held without bond in the Moore County Detention Center. No dates have been set for trial in Moore County Superior Court.
