The Moore County Planning Board has elected Dave Kinney as vice-chairman, succeeding Kim VonCanon, who rotated off the board this month. The vote was unanimous at a Thursday night meeting.
The board also recognized VonCanon for her hard work and dedication and welcomed her successor, Jerry Wilson. VonCanon was unable to attend the meeting, and a member of the planning staff will deliver the certificate of appreciation to her.
In other business the board voted to recommend that the Board of Commissioners rezone a parcel on Murdocksville Road from Highway Commercial to Rural Agricultural-20. Herman Aldean Mabe made the request.
After lengthy debate on a number of issues, the board approved a conditional use permit for Efrain Cardozo to place an accessory dwelling, a manufactured home, on a single-family lot he owns on Mount Carmel Road.
More details will appear in the print version of The Pilot.

Jerry Wilson ~ so how much building or development experience does Mr. Wilson have to his credit? O' I forgot, it's all about the politics and not about one's credentials to serve on a board or commission. Now if we are going to raid a moonshine still, he's your man....
