Two local men face multiple charges after Southern Pines police arrested them in connection with an alarm activation and break-in at City Pawn Shop, 275 W. Morganton Road.

Arrested were Roger Campnella, 20, of Southern Pines, and Jacob Corkill, 17, of Aberdeen. Both men were charged with three counts of breaking and entering and three counts of conspiracy breaking and entering and larceny.

The break-in was reported at 6:45 a.m. Easter Sunday. During the course of the investigation Southern Pines police learned Moore County Sheriff’s investigators were looking into a similar break-in that occurred in an unincorporated area of the county.

The collaboration between the two agencies led to the arrests.

Campnella and Corkill appeared before a Moore County Magistrate and were remanded to the Moore County Detention Center under $15,000 secured bond pending trial on April 15 in Moore County District Court.

This investigation is on-going. If you have any information in this case, contact the Southern Pines Police Department, (910) 692-2732.
