It took just a week for our football prognosticators to restore my faith in them. A huge week for most everyone, except me. Twelve and 13 correct answers were common this week. But, as often is the case, you gotta go high to win the prize in this contest. Willie Nicholson of Laurinburg got 14 games correct to win the $50 prize for first place. Nicholson missed the Skins-Lions game and the Houston-Jacksonville game. Good work Willie. His total was one better than a handful of folks, including second-place finisher Randy McNeill, of Cameron, and Shirley Morgan, who was third. McNeill won the tiebreaker out-pointing Morgan by one, 51-50. The total points in the Jacksonville-Houston game was 55.
For those interested, I fell back in the pack this week with a lowly total of 9.
Weekly prize money is awarded for the top three prognosticators, and a yearly winner collects $200.
Weekly winners will be paid at the end of the month. Congratulations to all who have participated, and good luck in the final 10 weeks of our contest.
Fill out all games and the tiebreaker, and make sure you get your entries in by deadline.
