Thomas M. Van Camp, of Van Camp, Meacham and Newman PLLC, was recently selected for 2009 membership in the American Trial Lawyer's Association's exclusive Top 100 Trial Lawyers organization.

Membership is obtained through special invitation and is extended only to those attorneys who exemplify superior qualifications of leadership, reputation, influence, stature, and profile as civil plaintiff or criminal defense trial lawyer, a news release said. The national organization is composed of the top 100 trial lawyers from each state.

Selection is based in part on reputation among peers, the judiciary and the public, and previous years of achievements and verdicts as a trial lawyer.

Van Camp received his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1989 and was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in the same year.

He is the managing partner of Van Camp, Meacham and Newman in Pinehurst, and his practice is focused on civil litigation, personal injury, workers compensation, employment, construction, insurance and constitutional and civil rights law.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association and North Carolina Advocates for Justice.
