The Pinehurst Fair Barn is the setting for barbecue and bluegrass at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, in a benefit for Special Olympics of North Carolina.

The music will be provided by The Cowboys, a popular local band, and barbecue lovers will enjoy sampling Smithfield Barbecue.

This fundraiser is sponsored by the Pinehurst Police Department and costs $20 per person for the entire evening.

In addition to the food and music, there will be numerous door prizes and a fifty-fifty drawing.
