The Sandhills CC Flyers women's volleyball team will host Brunswick Community College at 5 p.m. tonight in Heins Gymnasium. The match was orginally scheduled for 6 p.m.
PHS Golfers Win
Elizabeth Hall shot a 79 to earn medalist honors as the Pinecrest girls gained a victory in the second Southeastern Conference golf match of the season.
Hailey Crider was next for the Patriots, finishing with a 90 at Scotch Meadows Country Club in Laurinburg. Haley Robinson and Kerri Harbour were the other contributors to the team score of 392 that was a 19 stroke improvement over last week's result.
Scotland County (418) and Richmond Senior (459) were the only other schools to have the four golfers required to post a team score.
PHS Jayvees Rally, Win
Damari McPhaul scored three touchdowns in the fourth period to help rally the Pinecrest jayvee football team to a 37-24 victory at West Johnston, Thursday evening.
The Patriots, now 3-0, took a 17-0 first half lead with the defense providing one of the scores on a fumble recovery by Javonte Alston in the Wildcat end zone. But, the home team scored 24 unanswered points.
The Patriots travel to Western Harnett this Thursday for a contest that begins at 7 p.m.
O'Neal Harriers Run in Winston-Salem
The O'Neal Falcons cross country team ran their third meet of the season Saturday at the Salem College Cross Country Invitational in Winston-Salem, hosted by Salem College.
The boys' team was led by sophomore Austin Puleo, finishing with a time of 19:34. He was followed by Ian Maynor (22:31), captain Tommy Miller (22:34), Evan Davies (22:55), Zeb Viskovich (24:25), Mark Pracht (24:33), Jack Lucas (27:15), Dylan Andrews (28:37), and Josh Hager (31:13).
The girls team was lead by sophomore Alana Godbey, (25:35), Mulloy Manning (25:37) and Micaela Wilkinson (29:00).
Pinecrest, UP Cross Country Teams Take Top Spots
The Pinecrest cross country teams swept the relay meet at Hogan Stone Park Saturday and the Union Pines boys cross country team took second in the event.
Craig Baggett (8:11) was the fastest finisher for the Patriot boys, who finished with a winning time of 42:24. Other members of the team were Jacob Allen (8:23), Dalton Allen (8:23), Jared Walters (8:56) and Landon Sherwood (8:43). Union Pines finished second, one minute behind the Patriots.
Will McCoy was the fastest Viking finisher in 8:29. His four teammates all finished within 30 seconds of McCoy's time. tively.
Lexie Schustrom (9:42) and Hailey Germain (9:42) were the top two finishers for the first-place Patriot girls team, which finished in 51:19.
The UP girls were eighth.
