The O'Neal varsity girls tennis traveled to Raleigh Racket Club on Thursday and came home with a strong 8-1 win over St. David's. In singles, Brianna Ek defeated Helen Bornhofen 6-1, 6-2, Katie Jenkins defeated Brin Whatley 6-1, 6-3, Amelia Schirmer won a close match over Andrea Adams 5-7, 6-3 (10-2).

In the only loss, Mary Garner (ON) lost a heartbreaker 4-6, 6-1, (10-7). Virginia Scarpa won easily over Caty Reynolds 6-2, 6-2 and Victoria Scarpa defeated Clair Benson 6-3, 6-1. In doubles Ek and Jenkins defeated Bornhofen and Watley 8-3, Schirmer and Garner defeated Cooley and Adams 8-3 and Scarpa and Scarpa defeated Leslie and Seifert 8-1. In an exhibition match Reynolds and Benson defeated Greyson Keel and Jordan Fisher (ON) 8-5. The win moved the Falcons to 4-2. St. David's is 3-4. O'Neal will host Fayetteville Academy at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
