An Aberdeen man faces several drug charges after being arrested Saturday by Southern Pines police.

Thomas Worth Hinton, 21, of Aberdeen, was arrested after police investigated a suspicious vehicle parked at Downtown Park on Broad Street around 11 p.m., according to a press release. During the investigation, officers discovered Hinton in possession of marijuana and ecstasy, according to the release.

Hinton was charged with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance. He was jailed, with bail set at $5,000.
