The O'Neal School varsity girls tennis team traveled to Fayetteville Academy and came away with a 9-0 victory Tuesday.

In singles competition, Brianna Ek defeated Jessica Morales 6-0, 6-0, Katie Jenkins defeated Kristen Chandria 6-0, 6-1, Amelia Schirmer defeated Christina Sumner 6-2, 6-0, Mary Garner defeated Sita Chandra 6-0, 6-0, Virginia Scarpa defeated Haylee Bigbee 6-2, 6-0 and Victoria Scarpa defeated Emily Hobgood 6-0, 6-0. Greyson Keel played two exhibition matches against Ardu Patel and Lauren Dawson and won both 6-0.

In doubles, Ek and Jenkins defeated Morales and Chandria 8-2, Schirmer and Garner defeated McConnell and Sumner 8-1 and Scarpa and Scarpa defeated Bigbee and Hobgood 8-0.

O'Neal improved to 10-4 overall and 6-3 in the Cape Fear Independent Conference with the win. The Lady Falcons play their last conference match on Thursday when they host Village Christian at 3 p.m. in a match that will decide second place in the conference.
