Locklear Cabinets Marks 50 Years

Harold Locklear Cabinets, Woodwork and Custom Closets will celebrate 50 years of business in Moore County from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, as part of the open house at Kees Appliance Center.

Interested businesses and consumers are invited to sample food and beverages and enjoy perusing "exquisite" cabinetry and state-of-the-art appliances and services, a news release said. Special events for the celebration include:

n Display of Locklear Cabinets new custom kitchen and cabinet mobile showroom, a 28-foot enclosed trailer equipped with sample kitchens, cabinets, doors, finishes and hardware. The showroom is available for on-site projects to allow contractors and consumers convenience in selection of kitchen, cabinets, baths, closets and storage solutions for their homes.

n Tour of Locklear Cabinets fully equipped kitchen showrooms inside Kees Appliances.

n Free design consultation with award-winning Atlanta designers from Interiors by Gail. Attendees can bring copies of house plans to the mobile showroom. Appointments may be pre-scheduled by calling (770) 827-7175.

n Demonstration of the most convenient and space saving accessories from Rev-A-Shelf, the world's largest manufacturer of functional storage organizing products.

n Kees Appliance will host representatives from appliance vendors for on-site demonstrations: Wolf, Viking, Sub Zero, GE, Miele and Whirlpool.

Since 1959, the family owned business, along with owner Harold Locklear, have built a reputation as one of the Carolina's industry leaders through design and manufacture of exclusive fine custom cabinetry for discerning individuals and businesses throughout eastern North Carolina and South Carolina, a news release said. The main office, showroom and manufacturing plant are located in Rowland. The local showroom is located at Kees Appliance at 104 E. Main St. in Aberdeen.

Harold Locklear's custom kitchens and cabinets are featured in some of the finest homes and offices in Moore County --the Country Club of North Carolina, Pinewild Country Club, Seven Lakes West, Forrest Creek, Fairway On Seven, Pinehurst No. 6, Woodlake and Foxfire. Harold Locklear Cabinet showrooms and displays are also located throughout the Southern Pines/Pinehurst area at several developer's and architect's offices.
