Girls Golf Program Visits Seniors

Participants of the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of the Sandhills program, along with parents, advisors and others, were at the Senior Enrichment Center in Pinehurst Sept. 30, paired with seniors to test putting skills.
The Seniors and Juniors Putting Challenge was offered through the MOORE Wisdom group and was attended by representatives of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce, Moore Buddies and Drug Free Moore County.
Aberdeen Elementary School fifth-grader Destiny Griffin was presented with a new set of golf clubs provided by LPGA Tour player Inbe Park via the LPGA Foundation. Karen Plankar, a coach from the Silver Foils women's golf organization of Pinehurst Country Club, and Janie C. Farina, a LPGA-USGA Girls Golf pro, were on hand to make the presentation.
LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of the Sandhills was started in 2007. Participants and adult advisors enjoy weekly skill-building sessions and fun.
