Auditions Open for Children's Production

Auditions will be held for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of "Jack and the Beanstalk" from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at Southern Pines Elementary School Auditorium.
Those auditioning should arrive between 3:15 and 3:20 and plan to stay for the full two hours.
Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.
Among the roles to be cast are Jack, Mother, Milky White, the Magic Harp, Farmers, Merchants, The Giant, Jill, Circus Performers and Magic Beans. Students in grades kindergarten through eighth, are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.
The Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) touring productions come complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. MCT Tour actor-directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day.
"Jack and the Beanstalk" will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, and 3 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Southern Pines Elementary School Auditorium.
Tickets are $5 for Arts Council of Moore County members and $8 for nonmembers. They are available for advance purchase at the Campbell House, 482 E. Connecticut Ave., Southern Pines, and at the door.
The Missoula Children's Theatre residency in Moore County is brought to the community by the ACMC, with support from Time Warner Cable and the North Carolina Arts Council.
