At the Whispering Pines Thrift Shop Board Meeting Monday, Sept. 7, three new board members were inducted. These include Mary Hager and Jan Flesca, secretaries, and Fred Warnimont, shop manager.

Officers continuing on the board are Marianne Turner, president; Marty Mullenbach, vice president; Betty Lohmiller, assistant treasurer; and Mary Lou Winn, personnel.

"Sales for the shop have been very good since our move to Vass/Carthage Road across from the new Matthews Market," says a spokesman. "Therefore, new merchandise is always needed to restock the shelves, including clothing, books and especially household goods. We also accept small items of furniture for our porch sales that are held periodically."

Donations are accepted Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Sales are Wednesdays through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All money left after normal expenses is donated twice a year to local charities.
