College Offers Computer Classes

Do you need to learn the basics of Microsoft's Vista operating system?

Sandhills Community College will be offering a class that will include learning to navigate in Windows, using the start menu, understanding basic file management, printing and more.

Classes will begin Oct. 15 and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays through Nov. 10, from 3 to 5:30 p.m.

The Computing for Beginners Using Windows class or prior computer experience is required. The cost is $65 plus a technology fee of $5. The registration fee is waived for individuals 65 or older, but the technology fee is required.

The college can help you know your digital camera better. Learn the common features found on most digital cameras, how to use them to produce quality images and how to transfer the images to a computer in just one day.

Computing for Beginners class is a required prerequisite. The one-day class will be held on Friday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $30.

The College will also be offering a Maintenance for Windows Vista class. Learn how to use the proper tools to clean up unused programs, get rid of unwanted files and more.

Classes will be held Tuesday, Oct. 15, and Thursday, Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. to noon. The prerequisite required class is Windows Level 1. The cost is $30.
