The Pinehurst and Parks Recreation Department will hold the second of two public input meetings on the creation of a Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Village Hall.
The first meeting took place Thursday, Nov. 12. at the Fair Barn.
The first hour of the meeting will focus on the master plan. The second portion of the meeting will be to hear public comment on a specific site Master Plan for Cannon Park.
The Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan will be used as a guide to meet the village's recreational facility and service needs over the next 20 years.
The process will include surveys and public input meetings and presentations, and the village urges all residents to participate and share their opinions.
McGill Associates is conducting the meetings and evaluating the need for future programs, parks, community centers, facilities, open space, land acquisition and management, trails, greenways and more in order to develop their recommendations.
The plan for Cannon Park provides an opportunity to look at improvements that can be made to existing facilities and also any new facilities or amenities that could be added to the park.
