Three Queens Chosen at Miss Noel Pageant

The 2010 Miss Noel Scholarship Pageant was held Saturday night at the Aberdeen Elementary School auditorium.

The pageant is presented each year by the Sandhills Business and Professional Women's Organization.

Ashley La Fell, 10-year-old daughter of Scott and Alisha La Fell, of West End, was selected Miss Noel. She performed a lively tap dance to the music of "Band Stand."

First runner-up was Rachel Jackson, 12-year-old daughter of Tammy Tyndall, of Southern Pines, and Marvin Jackson, of Aberdeen. She performed a hip-hop dance to a music-mix. Second runner-up was Claudette Smith, 12-year-old daughter of John and Pam Smith, of Pinebluff.

The new Junior Miss Noel is Cassidy Stoltenberg, eight-year-old daughter of Molly Stoltenberg, of Aberdeen, and Jack Stoltenberg, of Pinebluff. She sang "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas."

First runner-up was Alexa Castro-Givoanni, who performed a dance interpretation to the music of Elvis. She is the daughter of Deborah and Craig Giovanni, of West End. Second runner-up was Calli McLean, 8-year-old daughter of Matt and Noelle McIntyre, of Pinehurst.

Katy Stoltenberg, 5-year-old daughter of Molly Stoltenberg, of Aberdeen, and Jack Stoltenberg, of Pinebluff, was named Little Miss Noel. First runner-up was Crystal McLean, 5-year-old daughter of Audra and Terry McLean, of Jackson Springs. Second runner-up was Jennifer Ryder, 5-year-old daughter of Patrice and Eric Ryder, of West End.

Other Miss Noel contestants included Ashlee Matthews, daughter of Vicki and Kevin Matthews, of Whispering Pines; Makayla Blue, daughter of Heather and Mike Doolittle, of Greensboro, and John Blue, of Carthage; Morgan Hendrix, daughter of Peggy and David Hendrix, of Pinehurst.

Other Junior contestants included Samantha Picariello, daughter of Tina and Pete Picariello, of Pinehurst; Mistie Ingram, daughter of Sherrie and George Ingram, of Eagle Springs; Alexandrea Patterson, daughter of Heather and Scott Patterson, of Southern Pines.

Other Little Miss Noel contestants included Kaitlin Garner, daughter of Tina and Tom Garner, of Carthage; Emma Overton, daughter of Tracy and Bruce Overton, of Southern Pines; Cailin Belton, daughter of Jenifer and William Belton, of Vass; Kaylee Jones, daughter of Shannon and Kevin Jones, of Vass.

Co-hostesses for the event were Sandy Stewart, Charity Haskins, Miss Moore County 2010, and Katherine Kearns, Miss Outstanding Teen Moore County 2010.

Miss Noel 2009 Savannah Tracy performed a high-spirited cheer to the music "Something I Don't Know" and Megan Huff, Miss Junior Noel 2009, sang "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town."

Funds raised by this annual BPW event go directly toward the presentation of scholarships to deserving women of all ages in Moore County, to further their education. Scholarships are awarded each spring.
