The Equestrians of McLendon Hills had a Halloween Parade Oct. 31.
Fourteen horses and seven side walkers participated. Costumes ranged from a Gypsy woman, a Le Bandito, a fly, Raggedy Ann, the Jigsaw Killer, several devils, a witch and a parrot on a pirate.
The parade culminated in voting for the best horse and rider costume and a community cookout at the McLendon Hills Equestrian Center. The community social committee and the McLendon Hills developer provided the "gruesome grub." Some 40 riders, residents, boarders and guests attended.
The winner of the costume contest was Debbie Boyd riding Teano as the Parrot on a Pirate.
This parade has become a tradition at McLendon Hills and continues to have a larger participation each year. Photos can be seen online at equestrians.mclendonhills.googlepages.com/eventsphotogallery. Click on "Halloween Parade - October 31, 2009."
