Moore County NAACP Names Harris 2009 Woman of the Year

Tina Harris was crowned Moore County NAACP 2009 Woman of the Year.
Her family -- Darrell, Jeremy, Dominique, Makahla, Zachary, Daniel, Matthew, Elijah, Brooke, and Simon -- nominated Harris for the award.
She was crowned at the centennial church, Spaulding Chapel A. M. E. Zion Church, Taylortown. The guest speaker was Alona Sloan, adult services supervisor from the Department of Social Services. Entertainment was given by Adia McLaughlin and St. Joseph's A. M. E. Church, Aberdeen, under the direction of Robin C. Liles. April Green provided the welcome and purpose of the Women in the NAACP.
Harris represented Moore County NAACP at its 54th Women of Excellence/Mother of the Year Coronation Saturday, May 16, at Watts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Raleigh.
She received an all-expense trip to the N.C. State NAACP 2009 Women of Excellence/Mother of the Year Coronation in Raleigh, that includes two complimentary tickets to the event's brunch, complimentary dinner at Bonefish Grill, a gift bag, and two complimentary tickets to Moore County NAACP annual banquet.
"We wish to thank our corporate sponsor, McDonald's and business gift sponsors, Bonefish Grill, Outback Steakhouse and Golden Corral as well as everyone else who supported this event," said O'Linda W. Gillis, president of the Moore County NAACP.
