The masterpieces of students at Sandhills Classical Christian School are on exhibit Monday, May 18.

Students from all grades were asked to submit two pieces to tie into their art studies over the school year. With a curriculum that covers impressionists such as Van Gogh and Monet, surrealist Dali, and Renaissance painter Botticelli, students' works represent a broad spectrum in art history.

Local artist Frank Pierce juried the works, resulting in more than 100 pieces for display. Visitors to the show will have the chance to vote on their favorites, and Pierce will mat and frame the winner of "People's Choice."

The show is free and open to the public. Located at the school at 650 Pee Dee Road in Southern Pines, the exhibit is open from 6 until 8 p.m. Please call 910-695-1874 for more information.
