Jeff Cade suggested, in an April 22 letter, that the Tea Party participants are "sore losers." We are not. Tea Parties have nothing to do with political party agenda. We, the people, are concerned for a country that was originally founded on principles behind the fight against the tyrannical leader King George III and now against President Obama, Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Harry Reid.
Socialist philosophy and tyrannical-like actions will not be tolerated. American citizens, who see through the charismatic, manipulative speeches and actions of our illustrious leaders, will voice our opinions.
Freedom of speech, as well as the right to petition, is a First Amendment right found in the Constitution. That provision specifically prohibits Congress from abridging "the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." We want no socialistic philosophy merged with our Republican-based Constitution.
Obama promised positive change. He fails. What we got is a man who apologizes for the actions of his country, who admits not liking America, who thinks the Constitution is a living, breathing document that should change with the times and who shakes hands with dictators in a brotherly fashion.
Obama, Pelosi and Reid do not realize that the people who uphold the Constitution know its true purpose -- to safeguard this nation from people like themselves. The government works for the people, the people do not work for them.
We are not Astroturf, we are not uneducated rednecks, and we are not going away. We are red, white and blue Americans -- believers in the home of the brave, descendants of the American dream and fighters for freedom. "Let no man put asunder."
