The "Reds...Whites...& 'Ques'" Wine Tasting Tour offers an opportunity for Sandhills wine lovers to tour two of the most well-known wineries in the Yadkin Valley, taste an excellent selection of wines and support the American Red Cross Moore County Chapter.
The 8:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. event includes tours of both the Childress Vineyard with a signature tasting and Raylen Vineyard with its "Complete Flight" tasting. The cost of the tour also includes transportation by Kirk Tours, a light breakfast provided by Panera Bread and all tasting and vineyard tour fees. Lunch will be available for purchase at the world-famous Lexington Barbeque.
"We've considered doing this fundraiser for a long time and are excited that it has become a reality," says Buddy Spong, executive director of the Mooore County Chapter. "We think it will be a great event and the first in a series of wine country tours that will provide much-needed funds to support local disaster and blood drive needs. We are pleased to be collaborating with Kirk Tours and Panera Bread and will be looking for additional sponsors in the future. This should be a fun way to learn more about North Carolina wines, enjoy time with friends, and support your local chapter of the American Red Cross."
Seating is limited, and reservations are required. The cost is $90 per person. Call (910) 692-8571 by Friday, April 3, to make a reservation. Credit card payments are accepted by phone, or checks may be mailed to P.O. Box 407, Southern Pines, NC 28388.
