Wine Gala Benefits Moore County Choral Society

The Moore County Choral Society is sponsoring a wine gala at the Fresh Market in Southern Pines Tuesday, March 31,from 7 to 9 p.m.
Entertainment will be provided by the Moore Brass ensemble composed of Davis Clark, tuba; Kim Clark, French horn; Chris Dunn, trumpet; Rob Hill, trumpet; and Chris Shaw, trombone.
Tickets for the Wine Gala are $25, and only 300 will be sold. All proceeds will benefit the Choral Society. For more information, or to purchase a ticket, call Sandra Parsons at 215-8063.
Now in its 34th year, the Moore County Choral Society is the area's 100-voice community chorus. A nonprofit organization, MCCS is committed to bringing musical enjoyment and enrichment to residents of Moore County and surrounding areas.
MCCS presents two concerts a year: a holiday concert, performed twice the first weekend in December; and a spring classical concert in April. This year's spring concert, "An American Portrait," will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at Lee Auditorium at Pinecrest High School. The concert will feature works by American composers of the 20th century. Tickets for the concert at $15 for adults and $7.50 for students, and are available at Campbell House and The Country Bookshop (Southern Pines, Kirk Tours (Pinehurst) and the Coffee Scene (Seven Lakes) or by calling 315-8336.
MCCS sponsors two scholarships to aid students majoring in music, and supports quality choral music in the schools. The spring concert is receiving support from the Arts Council of Moore County with funds from the North Carolina Arts Council.
