Southwestern Randolph handed North Moore's girls' soccer team its first loss of the season Wednesday night.
Southwestern Randolph scored two first-half goals and held on for a 2-1 win.
Ester Pascal scored the lone Mustang goal midway through the second half when she converted an assist from Chloe Donaldson.
The Mustangs had opportunities in each half, but were unable to convert.
"We may have lost this game, but Southwestern Randolph exposed a weak area. The midfield made adjustments, which put more balance into the game. Now we need to work on keeping our midfield consistent," said head coach James Horwath. "In spite of the fact that this team starts seven sophomores, they are learning quickly."
North Moore starts conference play next week. On Monday the Mustangs travel to South Davidson. On Wednesday they host South Davidson, and on Friday the Mustangs travel to O'Neal.
