Patriots Tennis Rolls Past Scotland, 8-1

The Pinecrest boys' tennis team topped Scotland 8-1, Friday as it began its quest for another conference title.

The Patriots swept the singles matches.

Juniors Dana Parziale and Will Davis won easily at No. 1 and No. 2 singles for the Pats. Parziale defeated Will McDonald 6-3, 6-0 and Davis topped Tyler Minnick, 6-1,6-1.

Senior Eric Parziale won his Patriot tennis debut 6-4, 6-1 over Andrew Smith.

At No. 4 singles Jordan Dew defeated Allen Michael Minnick 7-6 (7-5), 6-2. Ethan Kavanaugh defeated Marshall Cooley, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5 singles and Andrew Jones needed three sets to win at No. 6 singles.

In doubles, Dana Parziale and Davis defeated McDonald and Tyler Minnick, 8-3. Kavanaugh and Harris edged Smith and Allen Michael Minnick, 8-6. Patriots Josh Coxe and Mac Hamilton dropped the No. 3 doubles match, 8-2.

The Patriots will be back in action Monday when they meet Douglas Byrd in a make-up match.
