Badly Chosen Headline

I have been a member of Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church for eight years, and I have been going to church there for many years before I joined. I am now 20 years old and a volunteer and youth leader. I think that the Jan. 30 headline, "End Is Near," was completely uncalled for and ridiculous. The article was well-written, but the headline was awful.

The old chapel being torn down is the beginning of a new chapter for this church, definitely not the end. The new building will provide an area for our youth to call their own. We haven't had that since I was in middle school. We want to provide them with this space because they are our church's and community's future. The new space will provide room for the many groups in the community that use our church during the week, as well.

The church's only goal is to make sure the church fits the needs of the church and the community, as the Rev. Grady Perryman has said. So, the next time you decide to write a headline, please make sure it fits the article.
