Moore County Library is a member of the five-county system called Sandhill Regional Library System. The card catalog at www.srls.info gives holdings of all five counties, which gives our patrons free access to books of all five counties.
Based on circulation stats for 2007-2008, along with actual expenditure for that year, Moore County's cost per circulation transaction was $2.76, a cost paid by taxpayers.
That is less than the average cost for the regions, which was $3.78, and considerably less than the cost for the town of Southern Pines, which was $7.06 per patron.
What does the library mean to you? Books, of course, which are entertaining and educational and free to residents of all five counties. It includes bookmobile service, which not only saves patrons gas money but services day care sites, retirement homes, alternative schools, and community stops all over Moore County. For a bookmobile schedule, go to the Web site. Click on Moore and Bookmobile.
Need Internet access? All five libraries have free Internet access, along with employees to help with a job search, and with preparing a resume.
The library has fax machines, copiers, movies, audio books and much more.
Have a question? Call your library. The Moore County Library answered 15,750 questions last quarter.
Have you visited your library lately? You may be surprised. Check it out.
