Pastoral Care Topic of Nursing Home Meeting

The Moore County Joint Nursing/Adult Home Commun-ity Advisory Committee’ will hold an open business meeting Friday, June 12, at 10 a.m. at the Senior Enrichment Center.

The Rev. Carl Naylor will speak on "Pastoral Care in Long Term Facilities." Naylor is the director of pastoral care and mission services at St. Joseph of the Pines. He implemented the nationally acclaimed program, "No One Dies Alone."

The Community Advisory Committee's purpose is to advocate for residents living in long-term care facilities. The committee members are local citizen volunteers who are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.

The committee members visit the local nursing homes/adult care homes at least once a quarter to apprise themselves of the general conditions under which residents are residing to assure quality care and quality of live for all residents of long term care facilities.

"Anyone who has questions or concerns should feel free to speak with a CAC member," says a spokesman.
