Anyone who reacted strongly, either way, to Michael Pollan's "The Omnivore's Dilemma" should catch one of the two showings of FOOD, Inc., a documentary on the American food industry, at the Sunrise Theater in Southern Pines.

Far from it that I should tell you what to think about what you find in your local grocery store.

Suffice it to say, if you have been looking for a reason to take the time to schedule a hike to the farmers market, this just might do the trick. FOOD, Inc. is running Thursday, Aug. 13, and Friday, Aug. 14.
