Good Morning, Toad!

In response to Editor Steve Bouser's July 15 column regarding toad woes, I have also observed an increasing number of amphibians making a break for the indoors.

I Googled the topic and found that lizards and toads are ectothermic, meaning they rely on external heat and cooling sources to raise and lower their body temperatures. They also come indoors looking for insects to eat.

So, your toad friend is just following his instincts in the pursuit of survival. Since he's taken a liking for your garage, you might consider giving him a name and a daily greeting.
