Village Design Group recently hosted a progressive-style tour of newly renovated condominiums currently on the Pinehurst Resort rental program.

A group of 30 units in the Lakeview, Prince Manor, St. Andrews, Linville Gardens and Golf Terrace developments were selected to be updated. The initial renovations included new paint, carpet, furnishings, window treatments, art and accessories.

Upgrades include 42-inch flatscreen televisions with consoles, painted accent walls, new bedding and lighting. Bedroom configurations were changed in some units to provide four queen beds. A few units also received kitchen and bath updates such as new cabinetry, lighting, tile and fixtures.

The open house event was provided to allow resort personnel to preview some of the recently completed units. Refreshments were served as about 40 people visited the properties. For comparison, photos were displayed of each unit before renovations began.

"We are thrilled to have been a part of this project," said Vicki Stone, president of Village Design Group. "It has been quite an undertaking, but the homeowners have been wonderful to work with, and we are very pleased with the finished results."

Scott Brewton, executive vice president and general manager of Pinehurst, said. "The colors are warm and inviting. We wanted to create a clean, relaxing atmosphere that reflects Pinehurst's hospitality and attention to detail. The condominium updates have coincided with the renovations of the east wing rooms at the Carolina Hotel."

The primary design team from Village Design Group includes Sue Hammer and Susan Brown. Additional designers included Ellen Perkinson and Stone, with the assistance of Holly Billingsley.

The project has been an effort to update the rental properties to include consistent color schemes and updated furnishings for resort guests. It is hoped that the renovations will attract more visitors and increase rentals for both the resort and the homeowners.
