Midland: The Ladies Golf Association played July 2 in a summer game of low net. The 18-hole winners were Sally Stultz, 65; and Georgia Snow, 69. Doris Stone won the nine-hole division with 36.

Chip-ins were recorded by Doris Stone on 13 and Dee Hancock on 11.

The Men's Golf Association played a Nassau tournament July 8 and the format was two best balls of the foursome. Overall for 18 holes were Lee Hancock, Harvey Koonce, Tom Delehaunty and Joe Alden at 111. Front Nine winners were Art Gula, Henry Fuhrmann, Joel Rabdau and Maury Finnegan at 59. Back Nine winners were Jim Braunscheidel, Mike Lloyd, Dave Petro and a blind draw at 54.

Art Gula won low gross with 77 and Henry Fuhrmann with 66.

In a nine-hole Skins Game, James Burrill had a winning skin on 2, Ted Cadieu on 3, Frank Tatman on 6, Phil Colwell on 7, Dick Heilman on 8 and Richard Kelly on 9.

Beacon Ridge: The Ladies Golf Association played July 7 in an 18-hole contest. The format was three-person teams with only scores of par-5s and par-4s counting for the score.

The winners were Olga Manning, Pat Land and Sandy McDermott, 85; Ann Nueslein, Nancy Cunningham and Lois Dole, 86; Marilyn Dumbleton, Nita Hartless and Linda Dunning, 91; Barbara Card, Marilyn Holzerland and Candy Alderman.

The Men's Golf Association played its monthly Ace of Aces tournament July 1, with low gross and low net winners qualifying for a Match Play event in October.

Foxfire: The Women's Golf Association played July 8 in an alternate shot on the front nine and one best ball on the back nine. The winners were Sandy Williams and Anita Clapp, 76; Phyllis Bottoms and Linda Ryder, 81; Bertha Christman and Joan Fruiesen, 82.

National: In the July Fourth Flag tournament, Beverly Harper was first and Betty Lynch second in the ladies' division. The winners for the men were Dick Tilley, Eric Frizzell, Pat Molamphy, Mike Cobb, Bob Fischer, John Doster, Giff Fisher and Dwayne Ayers.

In the Skins Game, Doug Lam had three. David Dunn and John Doster had two each. Dwayne Ayers, Dick Tilley, Ray Ogden, Tom Boals and James Watkins had one each.

The Women's Golf Association played July 8 in a Beat the Pro contest. The club pro scored 74 gross. and the winning ladies net scores were: Karen Grinter-Finegold, 68; Betty Lynch, 69; and Dot Kennihan 70.

Southern Pines: The Par Seekers played its Member Cup/low net tournament July 7 with the following winners:

Flight 1 -- Ann Kendall and Louise Pierce, 70; Jenny Sherrill, 72; Carol Morris, 74.

Flight 2 -- Barbara Michetti, 66; Susan Ray, 72; Jeanice Snyder, 73.

Woodlake: The Ladies Golf Association played July 7 in a four clubs and a putter contest on the Maples Course. The winners were Brenda Tillman, 70; Barb McCleneghen, 74; and Pam Jones, 74. Wanda Parker birdied 4, and Lynn Ball chipped in on 15.

On July 9, the ladies held a member-member tournament on the Palmer Course. The winning teams were:

Gross: Pam Congelosi and Nancy Kuhary, 77; and Pat Scoggins and Dorothy Kube, 86.

Net: Pam Jones and Ruth Straka won in a sudden-death playoff, at 58, over Angie Forge and Pat Bickoff.

The Women's Niners played on July 6 in a "Red, White and Blue" tournament. The format was net scores of three-person teams. The winners were Margie Spory, Lynda Thomas and Ellie Leaman, 64; Joyce Petersen, Roberta Danielson and Lillian Johnston, 66; Bev Lawson, Liz Horner and Rhea Russell, 67. Roberta Danielson chipped-in on 3.

Seven Lakes: The nine-hole Lakers played July 1 in a Cordial Cup and low putts contest. Nancy Sabo won the cup with a net 34, and Doris Pierce won low putts at 16.

On July 8, the Lakers played a game in which the scores on the first, fourth and fifth holes were not counted and only 50 percent of each player's handicap was used for scoring.
