Keep Moore County Beautiful Inc. is sponsoring a mixed paper recycling drive Saturday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kangaroo Station in the Fresh Market Shopping Center, Southern Pines.
Acceptable items include anything that is paper -- grocery bags, flattened boxes, telephone books, junk mail, magazines, catalogs, flattened corrugated cardboard, shredded paper, office paper, and newspapers.
Also accepted are any type of household batteries, inkjet cartridges, and cell phones.

'Something Moore'
"Something Moore, A Treasure Chest Sale," a fundraiser for the Arts Council of Moore County, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at Campbell House, Southern Pines.
This tag sale of treasured items donated by the community includes antiques, art, pottery, china, silver, fine jewelry and other special items and collectibles.

Pet Adoption Event
A pet adoption and 'Paw'dicure event will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at the National Guard Armory in Southern Pines.
Animal Advocates of Moore County will have adoptable dogs and cats, puppies and kittens.
There will be nail trimming and filing for $5 each, and $5 is also the charge for getting a dog's toenails painted.
Rabies vaccinations will be available for $7.
Hot dogs and sodas will be available from the "Cafe that Rocks."
Funds raised will support AAMC's animal programs. 944-5098.
Yard Sale
The Growing Farmers' 4-H Livestock Club will hold a yard sale and bake sale Saturday, July 11, at the Moore County Fairgrounds, Carthage, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
