Crumpton Interns With S.P. Parks and Recreation

Southern Pines Recreation and Parks Department has welcomed its new intern, Drew Crumpton.
He just finished his junior year at North Carolina State University where he is majoring in parks, recreation and tourism management.
Program Coordinator Sue Gillis said Crumpton will be working with youth activities and camps, athletics with Jordan Phillips, administration with Vi Janz, senior activities and special events with Rynet Oxendine, park maintenance with William Smith, and various jobs with Robert Reeve, the department's director."
Crumpton's work experience includes stints at the Carolina Yacht Club, Cape Fear Country Club, Penton Development, and the tennis facilities at Carolina Country Club.
He enjoys working with children and also the outdoors.
At N.C. State, he is involved with intramural athletics and various philanthropy events throughout campus.
"I am very excited to be working for the town of Southern Pines, and especially the recreation department." he said. "I hope that this summer will provide me with valuable experience that I can hopefully learn a lot from and carry with me into future careers."
