If you'd like to experience championship golf at its highest level, Pine Needles and Mid Pines Resorts are offering some bargain rates during the next week.
Pine Needles, which has hosted three U.S. Women's Opens since 1996 and is expected to host another in a few years, is giving golfers a chance to enjoy a Donald Ross experience for $69 through Saturday.
Mid Pines, another storied Donald Ross design just across Midland Road from Pine Needles, is offering the same experience for $49.

Play Golf: The Resort Club at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach is hosting its third kickoff for Play Golf America Day Feb. 14, with tee times from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Highlighting the day will be free instruction and golf clinics conducted by more than 40 PGA professionals from throughout the Carolinas PGA Section.
Many of the golf industry's leading equipment manufacturers, including Mizuno USA, Callaway Golf, Aldila, Adams Golf and more will be on site to provide hands-on testing of the hottest products on the market. Attendees will be able to test drivers on the range, wedges at the chipping area and putters on the practice green.
Representatives from participating manufacturers will be on hand to provide club fitting and product insight.

Junior Shootout: Myrtle Beach National will host the sixth annual Myrtle Beach Junior Golf Shootout during Easter weekend, April 10-11.
The spring partner of the George Holliday Tournament held annually in November, this event hosts more than 150 boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 18 years of age for the two-day tournament. The entry fee is $129 with a registration deadline of April 1.
Sponsored by Myrtle Beach National, PGA Tour Superstore and Coca-Cola, the Junior Golf Shootout features two tournament rounds at Myrtle Beach National's Southcreek and West Course, lunch each day, a welcome gift, door prizes and fun for the entire family. Sanctioned by the South Carolina Junior Golf Association, tournament participants can earn points toward the Heritage Classic Foundation Rankings.
