SANDHILLS BEST BETS: Tree Recycling Set for Tomorrow

Keep Moore County Beautiful Inc. asks that you "leave one for the chipper" and recycle your Christmas tree this year.

Trees will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the corner of U.S. 15-501 and Murray Hill Road, Southern Pines.

Trees will be chipped into mulch on-site. Keep Moore County Beautiful will provide bags for individuals to take free mulch home to use around shrubs, trees or in flower beds.

A Night at the Copa

Students in the Pinecrest High School theater and culinary programs will hold the fundraiser "A Night at the Copa," Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Fair Barn in Pinehurst. The event reproduces the famous New York City supper club in a dinner theater setting.

Tickets are $50 and can be obtained at the Arts Council of Moore County at the Campbell House, 482 East Connecticut Avenue in Southern Pines, or call 910-715-1931 for more information.

Flu Shots

The Moore County Senior Enrichment Center will be hosting a walk-in flu shot clinic by Maxim Health Care Services from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13.

"Bring your Medicare card," says a spokesman.

The Senior Enrichment Center is located at 8040 U.S. 15-501, two miles north of the Pinehurst Traffic Circle.
